Just do it. Unless you want to risk losing all your hard work, don’t even question it. Open Game of War: Fire Age, click on the plus symbol in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, select accounts and devices, and create an account. It’s free and just requires an e-mail address and password. This will enable you to log into your account from other devices and more importantly recover your account if you accidently lose your phone, iPad or delete the app.
Unless you love being called Empire and wish to be a constant target for attacks, I suggest immediately changing your player name. Any player I see with the default name “Empire. 12823123” instantly screams “I’m a Newbie please attack me now!” This can be done by clicking on items at the bottom of the screen and selecting the “Player Rename” item under special. Whilst not as important you may wish to also change your City name, Hero name, profile image and Hero avatar at the same time by using the appropriate items.
The next thing you should do in Game of War is join an alliance; any alliance will do to start with. This one small act will stop 99% of all attacks on your city immediately. If you really want to go it alone I suggest you form your own one man alliance to begin with.
The reason for this is that most alliances (especially the larger ones) require permission from a leader to attack another alliance. This is because a lot smaller alliances may be allied with the larger players and will not risk starting a war just to attack your little city.
Many players scout the map attacking any player that is not in an alliance, it is very quick to identify these players as they will not have the alliance prefix before their name. By having any alliance prefix you will probably be skipped over by the majority of players looking to cause trouble.
You will see at the bottom toolbar a quest icon. Clicking on this will bring up three categories of quests: Empire quests, Daily quests and Alliance quests. You should immediately hit start on a quest under the Daily and Alliance sections. Don’t worry about which quest as you will be completing all of these. While you are at it you should complete any quests in the Empire section that have a green tick next to them.
From now onwards you should always keep an eye on the quest icon and as soon as a green tick appears there will be a quest to complete. You should continue checking back throughout your time in Game of War whenever a quest is ready to complete and start any available quests.
So you have joined an alliance, completed the starter tutorials (putting you at stronghold level 2) and are now left wondering what to build next.... You should already have one food farm from the tutorial and I would suggest immediately building three more, plus four mines, four logging camps and four quarries. The reason I recommend four of each type is because this will reward you with quest completions giving you 12,500 of each resource and provide a nice steady income in all resources.
Now what? You guessed it more Farms! This part is overlooked by the majority of players until later on, when it is nowhere near as useful. You will now build another 6 food farms and destroy them...that’s right blow them up. Repeat the process with the other three farm types until you are back to four of each. Why would you do this I hear you ask? Well, building ten of any farm type rewards you with whopping 100k resources for that farm. This will give you a good head start over other players as you will have over 600k in resources before you even get going.
You will find your hero level’s up along the way. Don’t be tempted to spend your skill points yet otherwise you may waste your early points and have to spend gold or alliance points on an early respec.
Next the villas, and you will want to build four straight off the bat. You may also decide to build another six to complete the ten villa quest; however the rewards are not as good as the farm quests, so I would say this step is optional at this point. Villa’s will be your main source of silver throughout your time in Game of War. Now you can proceed to build a Barracks, Academy and Forge. Remember to collect your quest rewards along the way.
And that’s it for my first guide. By following these simple steps you will probably have more resources at level 1 than the majority of players have by the time hit Stronghold 5. You will be perfectly set up to power through the next four Stronghold levels.
