The Forge is where all of your crafting takes place. It allows you to craft equipment for your Hero as well as combining gems and materials. Upgrading your Forge increases your crafting speed.
Tapping the Forge will bring up the four options shown to the right. “Craft” will allow you to combine materials you have collected to form items for your Hero. The recipes button will bring up a list of all equipment craftable in the game, regardless of whether or not you can currently make the item. You will only be able to craft items that are equal to or less than your hero’s level. You should therefore check back as your hero levels up to see what new items are available.
Each item will require different materials to craft which is listed on the recipe. A green tick indicates you have the required materials.
The craft quality meter shown under each item tells you the chance of producing equipment of that level. The more materials of a certain level you have, the more chance your finished product will be that level. Tapping a colour on the quality meter will show you the stats for that level item.
Example:- Say you wish to make a Scythe which requires 2x metal, 1x timber and 1x glass. If you were to craft this item with two blue materials and two green materials you would have a 50/50 chance of producing either a blue or green Scythe.
If you were to craft the Scythe with one green, one blue, one purple and one orange material you would have a 25% chance that the finished axe would be any of these colours.
The only way to guarantee your equipment will be a certain level is to use all materials of the same level. In general I would only recommend using green and above to craft with to avoid the chance of a white or grey item being produced.
The equipment colour in increasing quality is:- Gray > White > Green > Blue > Purple > Orange
Combining materials lets you take any four of the same material, at the same level, and combine them to produce one material of the next level. As a rule I always combine all gray and white quality materials to at least green.
There will be some circumstance where you will not want to combine materials. For instance The Odyssey is a very good high level construction accessory that requires 3x Parchments. Now say you have 4x blue Parchments and you are considering combing these to make one purple. Well if you do this you can no longer make the Odyssey until you obtain at least another 2 parchments (preferably at a high level).
You should also plan ahead and consider saving some of your high level materials for future items you cannot currently craft.
Your inventory allows you to store equipment for your Hero. You should note that an inventory slot is taken up by every piece of equipment you own, regardless of whether or not it is currently equipped by your Hero.
To start with you can only store nine items. Keep in mind that a full set of equipment takes up six slots and you will eventually want to have different sets of armour for different purposes. This is one area where I recommend you do spend your gold as it is the only way to increase your capacity. 1,000 gold will unlock an additional 4 slots.
That’s it for the basics. I will add more specialised guides shortly.
