In Boom Beach Medics are a short range healing unit. They are not capable of dealing any damage, but instead follow other units healing closely from behind.
Medics takes up five spaces on a landing craft, so you need to plan how many crafts you wish to dedicate to healing carefully. They are first unlocked at Headquarters level 15.
Medics are very effective as a combo with tanks and heavies. This is because these units have high hit points, allowing medics time to heal them as they take damage. The tank/medic combo in particular is very effective, check out our attack guide for more details on this strategy.
Medics are the only unit in the game that will completely ignore flares, instead following any units with low health. This can be a problem if your attacking force gets separated and the medics choose to run after the wrong units.
Single target high damage weapons, such as the boom cannon are useful for taking out medics. However, as these are also effective against tanks, most medic/tank combos will try to take out your cannons first.
