In Boom Beach the Radar allows you to uncover new areas and unlock new islands.
When you start the game you have a small area on the map uncovered with five islands available. Building your Radar allows you to expand your area by unlocking regions adjacent to your base.
The Radar does not make the regions immediately accessible; you will still have to spend gold to explore the new areas. The further the regions are from your base and the larger the area, the more they cost to unlock.
Upgrading your Radar will unlock additional areas, further out from your base. Each area uncovered will allow you access more computer controlled bases, other player bases, resource bases and Hammerman’s HQ.
Computer controlled bases will allow you to generate passive gold once conquered. Resource bases are controlled by players and once defeated will generate one type of resource for you. Player controlled islands allow you to attack other player bases and once defeated reward you with their unprotected resources.
Hammerman’s HQ are special bases scattered throughout the Archipelago. They are a lot harder to defeat than regular bases as they have special weapons not found elsewhere in the Game. There are 10 bases in total and each have high resource rewards.
The table below breaks down the build cost for each level, the number of islands unlocked and the time taken to upgrade your Radar.
|Level||Health||New Regions||New Islands||Wood
|Upgrade Time||HQ Needed||XP gain|
